Thrift Store

Thrift Store

The CARE Center operates two Thrift Stores located in New Hope and Gurley. The stores offer name brand clothing and shoes at an affordable price for men, women, and children. Both stores carry household items, furniture, appliances, electronics, books, baby furniture, toys and a variety of holiday decorations. Our stores employ high school and college students as well as other neighbors from the communities we serve. The thrift stores have a box truck for furniture and appliance donations that can be scheduled for pick-ups on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays by appointment only. We accept donations during the thrift stores' regular business hours. We are no longer accepting tube televisions or mattresses as donations. Come visit us today and support The CARE Center mission in Brownsboro, Gurley, New Hopes, and Owens Cross Roads through your purchases. Call for more information or to schedule a pick-up: 256-723-2281.

Job Board

Job Board

The CARE Center Job Board is designed to help those we serve find work. We keep the information updated with job listings and openings in Southeastern Madison County as well as in Huntsville. The Job Board has been a huge benefit to those we serve as job loss is the emergency that many neighbors that we serve at The CARE Center are facing. Through this, we also promote adult education classes, GED classes, computer classes, and much more.

Project Abundant Life

Project Abundant Life is a ministry to single moms who are motivated but need the relational and financial support to make their life vision a reality.  In Alabama, nearly half of single mom households live in poverty. The cycle of poverty often stems from limited education and lack of affordable housing. Our mission is to offer a Christian community where mothers can find hope and new opportunities. We believe that God calls us, as His Church, to care for those without husbands or fathers. For additional information, visit the Project Abundant Life website.
