Bags of Blessings (BoBs) is a weekend food security program that provides food to children from qualifying, low-income families who attend New Hope Elementary School, New Hope High School, and Owens Cross Roads School. Since the program began delivering food to children for weekends and extended breaks from school, administrators have reported an increase in school day attendance, test scores, and a decrease in behavioral issues, ultimately allowing the children to take their focus off their hunger crisis and put it back on their school work and learning.
To receive Bags of Blessings, please complete the application regardless if your child received them the previous school year. Applications for Bags of Blessings are also available at your child’s school or The CARE Center’s Business Office (5414 Main Dr. in New Hope.) If your contact information changes throughout the year, please get in touch with The CARE Center to update your information. This is how we’ll contact you with updates regarding Bags of Blessings, Christmas Shop, and CARE Packs (school supplies.)
You are welcome to complete and submit the online form (be sure to upload proof of income) or print and mail (be sure to include proof of payment) to: P.O. Box 51, New Hope, Al. 35760. If you need assistance filling out an application or have questions, please call 256-723-2273.
